Sustainable living is a part of my effort towards intentional living, where I am conscious of making small choices and actions today that will positively impact the planet tomorrow.
We all live in a vulnerable and depleting mother earth. Yet, I have taken this for granted for many years. With increased awareness and education, it started to daunt on to me how much may be left for my children and their future generations. Very little. Or maybe nothing.
In the recent years, it got me to start thinking, "how can I do my (tiny) part to reduce our carbon footprint and better use the Earth’s resources to minimize the environmental damage that can be caused by our lifestyle choices? For one, my family and I started to be mindful about use of plastic, limiting the usage and recycling plastics for other purpose as much as possible.
And then I started looking at my closet. How much of my wardrobe is fast fashion items? How often do I buy without thinking if I really need it? I am definitely guilty of it. So, what can I do about it?
Recycling is one way. Looking good and wearing beautiful pre-loved clothing can go hand in hand.
And then I asked myself. What else?
Creating sustainable employment and wages is another way I believe can drive adoption of sustainable living. When more families are uplifted in their quality of life, they can better focus on how they are contributing to the community and planet.
And, this is the story behind Woven. We support the future of our planet through recycled fashion and fair living wages.

Guilty as charged for being one of those who finds ‘bnwt’ items in the closet and pieces that are worn just once and put aside.
As I learn more about the waste fast fashion generates, I find myself changing my consumer habits - to more timeless pieces as well as that special piece of preloved .
Woven is our commitment towards this movement and the core of our business centre on supporting women in need, that our Woven ladies will be able to find a stronger footing in society. I strongly believe every step counts towards a more sustainable future, fashionably done!

As a sole breadwinner and primary caregiver to my 3 children, of which one is a newborn baby, I have been struggling to find full time employment due to lack of vacancy for infant care. So, I am excited when I know I can bring my baby to work at Woven by Women!
Being a believer of recycled clothes and cost conscious shopper, I frequently shop for affordable and good quality clothes from preloved sellers. I strongly believe that "One’s trash is another’s treasure.

On the personal front, I love fashion and I believe I can create my personal branding even out of second hand clothings! So I am excited to be part of Woven.byWomen to create this sustainability movement to create beauty out of recycled fashion!
